Description
One of 4,000 copies printed at Chiswick Press. 16 pp., 12½ x 87/8 ins, Glastonbury cream laid paper. Full page engraving by Ravilious on front, adapted from the 1933 prospectus [LI]. Specimen pages from 'Ecclesiates' (wood-engraving by Blair Hughes-Stanton); 'Glory of Life' (two engravings by Gibbings); 'Cosmetics for My Lady' (title-page); 'The Garden of Caresses'; 'A Crime against Cania' (wood-engraving by Blair Hughes-Stanton); 'Storm at Sea'; 'The Lord's Song' (two initials and a device by Gill); 'The Constant Mistress' (engraving by Eric Gill; 'Cupid & Psyches' (title-page and frontispiece engraving by Lettice Sandford); and a wood-engraving by Gertrude Hermes from 'Strawberry Time'.
