First Edition. Publisher's black cloth with gilt lettering and decoration to the spine, burgundy endpapers. Previous ownership inscrition to verso of half-title. Clear, removable, archival protecrtive sleeve fitted to the illustrated dust-jacket. Octavo. pp. [i-viii] ix-xliv, 268 with frontispiece portrait photograph of General Wolseley, eight pages of illustrations and one map.
Condition
A book in Very Good condition with slight pushing at top of spine, with a Good Plus dust-jacket with uneven fading to title on front panel, creasing to both flaps, rubbing of extremities and nicks with slight loss to head of spine.
