A chapbook printed from hand-made metal type within illustrated and printed card wrappers featuring an introduction to chapbooks by Susana Sanchez-Gonzalez, Digital Projects Officer at Chetham's Library. The publication was part of the ACE funded digitisation project The Ballad of Chetham's Library. The chapbook is a new edition of an 18th century chapbook from the Library's collection, re-using the old pictures but modernising the telling of the fables. 175 x 115 mm, pp. 12, illustrated and including 'The Fox and the Lion', 'The Stag and the Vine', 'The Cranes and the Geese', 'A Bugler Taken Prisoner', 'The Farmer and the Stork', 'The Wasps & Partridges' and 'The Jackdaw among the Pigeons'.
