Copy number '383' of an edition limited to 588 copies (from a total edition of 600 copies), signed by the author on the colophon. Hand-set in 12-pt SB Caslon and printed on T.H. Saunders' Mould Made Blue Laid from Wookey Hole Mill using a Wharfedale press. Bound in William Morris Willow Bough patterned cloth over boards, with endpapers marbled by Charles Lowndes, printed ochre oval label to the upper board. Imperial Octavo, 275 x 185 mm, with line-block reproductions of 32 drawings by Peter MacKarell and a tipped-in lithographic reproduction of a photograph of the author.
Condition
A book in Near Fine condition, lacking the original acetate dust-jacket with a yellow Bodleian repairing paper attached, printed in black, as described by Butcher. Now in an archival quality, protective dust-jacket.
