Single gilt rule along inner edge of leather spine. On front cover [gilt, within crossed swords, in script] the | sword | also means | cleanness | & | death. Gilt lettering to spine. On back cover blind rule along edge of spine leather. Red and yellow head band. Marbled end papers. T.e.gilt. Plain brown paper dust wrapper present. Collation: 25.5 x 19.3 cm: [A]8 B-TT8, 336 leaves, pp. [1-6] 7-672, with 47 plates, 4 in colour, and facsimilies following pp. 20, 22, and 25 with guard tissues before facsimiles and colour plates.
Condition
A book in Fine condition with an unblemished pigskin spine, in the Very Good rare dust wrapper which has a closed tear to the lower spine and slight loss to head and tail of spine. Now in a cloth covered clamshell box with leather label and gilt lettering to the spine, made by Chris Shaw.
