First edition. Publisher's black cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Clear, removable, archival protective sleeve fitted to the illustrated dust-jacket. Octavo. pp. [1-8] 9-534, with 55 photographic plates and 33 maps and sketches. Previous owner's name to front free endpaper dated 1967 with an Arabic inscription in parenthesis.
Condition
A lightly used book in Very Good condition with a small damp stain to the lower rear cover, with a Very Good dust-jacket with a stain to verso only, corresponding to that on the rear board, but which is not price-clipped (showing '63s net').
