Original green cloth with blind rules to front and rear boards, gilt lettering to spine, patterned endpapers. Octavo. pp. xxii, 432, one folding chart. Binding a little rubbed, slight spotting to prelims, partially uncut, a very good copy. Provenance: presentation inscription on prelim from R. J. Wilson to C. E. Byles, the antiquarian and writer, with a quotation from Tennyson's 'In Memoriam': "Move upward, working out the beast, and let the ape and tiger die". Also another owner's signature to ffep (Mulford Martin) and his blind stamp to title page.
